Rhododendrons refer to the evergreen shrubs of the heath family boasting vivid and beautiful flowers. Distributed mainly in the Northern Hemisphere, they are also called Manbyeongcho (“cure-all plants”) in Korean and actually used in herbal medicines treating rashes, producing diuretic effects, improving robustness, strengthening the stomach functions, curing rheumatoid arthritis, and mitigating nausea. This garden exhibits such species as the azaleas, (Rhododendron weyrichii Maxim), Rhododendron mucronulatum var. ciliatum Nakai, Rhododendron brachycarpum D.Don ex. G.Don, and so forth.
