Aquatic plants found in tropical and subtropical regions have been planted on and around the ponds, waterfalls, and a wetland we had built. Some noteworthy in this garden are the mangroves, the papyrus (Cyperus papyrus L.), an original ingredient for paper, the water lilies known as Victoria amazonica, with leaves as wide as two meters in diameter, and so forth. The garden also features the uniquely shaped Bottle Palms (Mascarena lagenicanlis L.H. Bailey) and monstera (Monstera deliciosa Liebm.) growing on and around bodies of water.
